Co-President: Gabriel

Gabriel C. Mendoza

Major: English, Sociology and Social Work | c/o 2012

Hello World!

My name is Gabriel Mendoza and I am one of the Co-Presidents alongside Georgette Estilo. I am currently a senior English, Sociology and Social Work Major at Loyola University Chicago. With hopes to become a Family Lawyer, I also have a passion for caring for those with development disabilities. I was born and raised in San Jose, CA, but I moved to Gilroy, CA when I was 11. To go off on a tangent, did you know that Gilroy, CA is the “Garlic Capital of the World?” See, I not only provide leadership but I also like to throw in some trivia. That is just the kind of person I am, a giver. When I’m not offering my lovely presence to the people of Kapwa, I usually eat, shop and read (for school not for fun). The downside of being an English Major is that your choice of reading strays from the J.K. Rowlings, Nicholas Sparks or whoever else is relevant these days to Chaucer, Moore and Milton (which does in fact, SUCK THE FUN OUT OF READING). Don’t get me wrong, Chaucer, Moore and Milton probably in some ways influenced Sparks or Rowling, but let’s face it, they’re writing is far from the Wizard World or Romantic Dramas of Rowling or Sparks. To wrap it up though, I am a diverse, awkward and entertaining individual. I believe awkward moments; well let’s face it are awkward, but are also there to make life interesting. I look forward to meeting any one and every one. Lastly, I’m the type of person that is timid and shy at first, but once you get to know me, my mouth is like Pandora’s Box: impossible to shut and never ending.
